Safari and Rover

After looking through the apps Safari and Rover, I have found that each app is useful in their own way.  Safari can be helpful if you are looking for a simple way to research different topics and information.  It is fast (depending on your internet speed) and easily responds to the touch directions.  It can allow you to open multiple tabs as well as move them around.  You can also share your findings with others easily.  One of the downsides to using safari is that it does not play any games/videos/images that are downloaded with Flash.
Rover can be a useful tool if you are wanting to play games that are downloaded by flash because it is actually a video of the webpage, not the actual webpage.  It does have its own multi-touch gestures that you will have to learn in order to use the app.  The downside to this app is that it is often slow and laggy which can create user frustration.  It also cannot play anything that uses shock wave or unity player.
I personally would use safari over rover mainly because of the speed factor.  If I am wanting my students to complete something in a timely manner, giving them a device/app that takes longer can open up the possibilities of misbehaving and frustration of a student waiting on a page to load. Safari also takes less bandwidth, which is an important factor if it is being used at school.  The more bandwidth means the more data being used and the slower it will make all internet activities.
